Is retirement close?

I’m retirement age. And the topic of retirement comes up a lot. There are those who are super excited and know what they’re going to do with their time. Those whose whole identity is their job, and who feel lost at the prospect. Those who don’t have enough saved. And those who say they’ll never retire.

I didn’t think I was retiring. But when I quit my job, my sister said “oh, you’re designing your retirement.” She was right, though I was doing it my own way. I enjoy working. The move provided meaning and deep fulfillment… work was no longer work. I created and coached because I loved it!

Call it my third act. The part of the play where you take everything the first two acts taught you and finally put it to use. For me…
