TRU Hunger

in TRU

Create something special . . .

It’s my intention to use food as fuel.
Food to fuel.

This week I took special notice as I grabbed for evening snacks at TV time, after I had just eaten.

I realized this happens nearly every night. This empty feeling in my stomach. And I respond by giving it food. But nothing satisfies.

It’s not that I’m not feeling it. I just realized, it’s that I’m misreading my body’s message.

I know because I’m doing something that, in my heart, I don’t want to do.

There’s something. Deeper. Something that’s asking to be heard. And addressed.

I don’t need to learn to control my behavior. That’s a band-aide. And it doesn’t work without pain.

The lasting solution comes when I deal with the TRU issue. Hear what it’s asking for. What I really need. And give it. To myself.

In this case, feeling the emotions of an old wound. Letting them out. Grieving. So the wound could heal.

. . . . . . . .

Coming T.R.U

Our body knows what it’s talking about. We don’t always understand it.

If you’re doing things counter to your intentions, take notice. Something is off.

There’s a reason. Find it. And give yourself what you’re really asking for.

When you do, you will start doing what you say you want to do.

Without fighting. Without feeling deprived. Without having to count points.

Look deeper.

Your TRU self knows not only the problem. But also the solution.

I wish I could figure it out! But I cannot go to bed hungry. And usually around 10 pm, I am hungry! I cannot think of what else it could be other than hunger. But I will definitely rethink it tonight when my stomach is rumbling! Thanks for your post!

So Lynne, this is what I’m thinking… really learn to recognize the feeling of hunger, physical hunger. The other hunger feels different. And your stomach doesn’t rumble. I’m thinking you ARE hungry. If we eat to satiation at say 6 or 7 pm, it would totally make sense that you’re hungry at 10. It’s not time for another meal tho, but for a snack that brings you back to satiation. The range Brooke Castillo gives is keep your hunger between -2 and +2. That’s on a scale of 10 on both sides. So, you’re eating to +2 and stopping. Waiting til you’re at about a -2 hunger and eating again to +2. That’s the way to your ideal weight. Thanks for writing. xo
